Lazos: A Community Magazine
Grupo Mexico’s Community Development & Communication team needed to enhance their visual communication in various channels, including print. The connection with the communities where Grupo Mexico operates is essential. Previously, they had created a free custom publication called Lazos, which represents the bonds within the community. Collaborating with them, we saw an opportunity to redesign the publication in terms of form and function (content). Reviewing their recent editions and understanding their communities, we identified key issues to address during the redesign, such as increasing the content, redefining sections and editorial structure, improving content presentation, enhancing the typographic and layout system, and elevating the use of photography, given their access to a skilled photographer. After a few weeks of working on the publication redesign, we launched the new issue, making a significant impact in the community.
After five issues, Lazos has become a crucial communication tool for the community, which has embraced it as its own. As any custom publication should be, Lazos evolves with every issue we work on, always keeping the community in mind.
